Anna Sky Hulton has a shufti at the latest in the Grand Theft
Auto series ...
GTA:
San Andreas is set in the early 90s, where Carl Johnson (CJ) must
return home after five years away from his home city of Los Santos.
His mother has been murdered and his family has fallen apart,
but when CJ returns home a couple of corrupt cops frame him for
murder. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the state
of San Andreas.
The
great thing about the GTA games is that they give players the
chance to go anywhere and do anything. San Andreas is promising
to be even larger than ever, with the game taking place throughout
a whole state, rather than just a city.
Downtown
When
he isn't stealing a car or in the middle of a mission, CJ can
take a trip to the shops, barbers or tattooists. Some clothes
and hairstyles will command more respect from the others on the
street so choose wisely.
CJ
starts with 'bog standard' jeans and a t-shirt, but as the game
progresses gang members will suggest he wears particular colours.
Wearing those colours will help him gain respect, but don't get
caught in the wrong end of town or it might have dire consequences.
So,
do you choose the cheap "Binco", the more upmarket "SubUrban",
or "ProLaps" the leading choice for sportswear in San
Andreas? It's up to you.
Out
in the country
In
between the cities CJ will be faced with large expanses of countryside
where more often than not a plane will be the easiest way to get
around. The dodo now has full-sized wings making it easier to
handle and there is now a Crop Duster (biplane) which gives you
more manoeuvrability, if you feel inclined you could do a few
barrel rolls.
Music
As
usual the radio and the music on it will play a large part in
the game. This time the game will feature over 150 tracks on the
radio stations, featuring artists such as James Brown, Willie
Nelson and 2 Pac. The CDs will reflect the wide range of music,
ranging from the contemporary west coast, to classic east coast
hip-hop and country.
