My faith and me - Islam

What's the best thing about your faith?
The best thing about my faith is that I don't think I can really pick out a certain aspect that is just the best, because I feel being a Muslim is that every angle and aspect of my religion is wonderful.

How easy it for you to talk to your friends and work colleagues about your faith?
It's nice to know that people, my colleagues, friends, and other people that are not Muslims take an interest into knowing what the religion is all about.

What's the longest distance you've travelled to follow your faith?
If there is a single place that I've ever been to to follow my faith is actually to Mecca, a city in Saudi Arabia, very close to the port city of Jeddah. Mecca is around 6322 miles from Blackburn.

Who is the most inspirational person you've met through your faith?
Anyone who has been the most inspirational to me within this faith it probably is the prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon him.

Who is the most famous person that follows your faith?
In the past five years people have actually done quite a bit about promoting Islam. An example of a very famous person that has done that and get children very involved in Islam is Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens.

What is your favourite proverb/phrase?
My most favourite proverb within Islam is a saying of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh). And that is "the most excellent of jihad is that of conquest of self".

What chart song would sum up your faith?
It was initially very hard to come up with something for this answer. However after thinking for quite some time I thought of a song from Bryan Adams and that is Everything I Do I Do It For You.

What is your favourite time of year?
Ramadan is the month that we really look forward to, whether the person is a practising Muslim or not everyone looks forward to Ramadan.
