What
happens at a Reiki session?
A
Reiki treatment or session would normally last about 1-1.5 hours.
There would be an initial discussion with the client, explaining
what would happen in the session, asking if there are any ailments
or any areas that may need special attention -and notes may be taken.
The client would normally lie on a treatment bed (fully clothed
except shoes) or in a chair, if they could not manage this. Usually
music is played and candles may be lit to create a relaxing environment.
The Reiki practitioner will place their hands lightly in positions
over the body, usually starting at the head and working down the
body. Sometimes the practitioner will work with hands above the
body.
Normally clients experience a state of deep relaxation, often drifting
off to sleep. They may experience different sensations such as heat,
cold, tingling, pulsing sensations. At the beginning and end of
the session, the client is encouraged to drink water to help to
clear impurities which are released from the cells.
How does a Reiki session do you good?
Reiki
can have a rejuvenating effect. It is particularly helpful for emotional
conditions, stress, migraines, PMT, etc - as well as for physical
problems and other illnesses. Reiki works in different ways at different
levels - physical, emotional and spiritual. The effects of a Reiki
session can last over 36 hours and the client may experience different
effects over the time period. To treat an acute condition, it may
be recommended to have four Reiki sessions over four weeks.
How much does a session cost?
The
cost of a Reiki session may vary but is likely to be about £20-
£25 per hour. (Some practitioners may accept donations that
the client can afford).
What if I want to learn more about Reiki?
We
all have the ability to channel Reiki. It can be learnt like anything
else. It is a valuable way of achieving emotional balance, healing
, and spiritual development. Reiki Teachers will have completed
at least four levels of training and they through their lineage
can train others.
