Not many bands can claim to perform a set with everything ranging from 80's cheese meisters Wham to indie kings Oasis but Darwen band Cherrybomb can. They're aiming to bring the fun back into live music.

Formed a year ago, Darwen based Cherrybomb are a covers band with a difference. Their diverse set makes them appeal to a wide audience from teenyboppers to hard core music lovers.

The band is made up of Craig Shorrack, vocals, Simon Hopwood and Benn Robinson on guitar, Pete Meleady, bass and Gary Jones on drums.

Named after a closed down record shop in Manchester, Cherrybomb are currently playing the local circuit in a bid to "introduce younger people (as well as experienced ears) to live music and show them that it's not all 70's rock and songs that you know the words to!"

Their current set includes tracks by David Bowie, Mel C, Primal Scream and Pink to name just a few.

Guitarist Ben told us that the band aim to "have enormous fun making great music that people aren't expecting to hear".
