You're
share the same name with the Refix's G Child- why's that?
I do have the same DJ name as him but it's purely coincidental.
I've been DJing professionally since the age of fifteen and have
used that name on all my advertising since 1995.
It's a lot of years playing under that name, so I cant really change
it now or else it would be like starting again.
What sort of music do you play?
I love and play all genres of music. Growing up I was influenced
by the hip hop culture and old motown and funk.
When I started Djing professionally I played funky US house. By
the year 2000 I dabbled in trance music and more recently I have
gone back to my roots playing R&B and Funk.
I believe to be a great DJ you need to understand all genres of
music, then you have more control and creativity in your DJ sets.
I could play Sean Paul, James Brown, 50 Cent, to Daft Punk, Roger
Sanchez or Chicane.
See Toast
Top 10!
What type of crowd do you get?
Toast on Thursdays is the 18-25 age group. But only those with style
may enter!
It is full of the pretty, stylish, rich, IT crowd of Lancaster.
It's a good crowd that appreciate hip -hop, R&B and old scool funk.
Very energetic and happy and leave your attitude at the front door.
Do you have a fave/lucky outfit for Djing in?
My lucky Cartman from South Park boxers and a logo T Shirt, wrist
accessories, ripped jeans and white trainers.
What do you drink when you're on the job?
I usually have to drive to Toast on Thursdays so I just have a couple
of bottles of Budweiser and a Red Bull.
Any pre front room club bars you'd recommend?
The Foxton - it's like an old church which has really nice, classy
people with loads of drinks offers. One for the Ladies!
How do you wind down/or do you carry on partying after your set?
If it's the weekend I carry on partying. There's always somebody
having an after party. The hard bit is finding out who. Always easier
as a DJ because they find you. Usually because they know you can
still get beer from the bar. Or pull a girl and rock the kasbah!
You
can choose anywhere in the world to play - where would it be?
Forget Ibiza - it'd be Las Vegas. It's the party capital of the
world.
