""pulses your speakers like crazy!""

Artist: D. Diggler
Title: “Foreword”
Label: Planet Vision
Format: 12”
Cat: VISION 041
Style: Techno
Release Date: July 2003

Forget the film you originally heard the name "D.Diggler" in, because it bares no relevance to this talented producer of hybrid techno/trance.

D Diggler, better known as Andreas Mügge, has clocked up plenty of releases and remixes to boot. Planet Vision records is the mother label of Pascal Feos's PV records which was launched as an outlet for minimal techno from various producers.

Planet Vision also represents a blueprint for the latest DJ sound, perhaps even a new evolutionary leap in the field of techno and trance combined with this unique release. "Foreword" introduces itself with a huge acid bassline, a line that's both catchy and pulses your speakers like crazy!

It cuts itself in and out through rewinds and incredibly hard compression, once that beat kicks in, the track starts to breathe life into itself. The track just continues to build and build by addition of shakers, clanging rides and driving hi hats, increasing the trance factor tenfold.

Once at the stop gap, the beat is lost and an incredibly trancy acid line filters its way in from heaven above and then we're off again, filters aplenty and unfathomable speech continue to build the atmosphere of the track into something a little darker.

A truly great track with a very unique style that will destroy a dancefloor or two! "Bit Of History" sounds as the title states, it's a trip back down memory lane to when the early nineties were pushing out plenty of techno trance tracks.

This offering is a composition that's full of very laid back percussive grooves, an interestingly programmed bassline, delayed angelic trance sounds, what more could you wish to lay back and drift off to?

Orchestral lead lines herald the main breakdown in the track and continue throughout the merry hop skip and jumping. A very different taste than "Foreword" but also a track to lighten the mood within a set.

I don't think that it's quite as entertaining as "Foreword" but still stands as a nice piece of intelligent tech trance that will make you want to sway instead of go nuts. A definite storming "must have" for "Foreword" alone, but "A Bit Of History" will still appeal to people who just want to hypnotically trance their ears.

I look forward to reviewing Mr Diggler's next offering.
