Sunday Stroll in Croston

Croston is a great village, which sadly too many people simply drive through to get to Southport. Croston was anciently the most extensive of the parishes in the hundred of Leyland. We approached Croston after walking from Eccleston.

I have been researching my family history and have just discovered that my Great-Grandmother was born in Croston in 1851 and married there in 1870 her name was Ellen Godbert. It was lovely to look around the village on line and I would love to find out where she lived.

I have a lot of ancestors from Croston, mainly Alty and Daltons, my gg grandad was the blacksmith in 1860 and so was his father before him, it was nice to visit where he would have worked
