I was born and brought up in Chipping. This brought back a lot of happy chidhood memories - thanks. Just one point, picture 23 is of the old John Brab's school at the entrance to Windy Street, not Water Street. A smashing family called Neary used to live there when I was a lad. My Granny lived next door.

I lived at Chalk Hall for many years (Captain Alston's)this name is linked with the civil war round about the mid 17thcentury. All the rivers in the area flow westerly where as the loud flows easterly due to ice age activity.Sorry to see Park Styles left in such a state it was on the old pale boundary which was a medievil hunting area linked with Elizaber I, the name Pale pops up in few places around chipping

If as your caption says, the Post Office seems to be a busy branch, why has the Post office decided to close it ???

I was very interested to see the photo of Dinkling Green, the Howson family lived here back in 1620

Your wonderful photo of the old stone house at Lickhurst Farm could well be the former home of my GreatX3 Grandparents! I can't thank you enough for this as I live along ways away from this beautiful area of Lancashire. Many thanks from Canada!
