Highly recommended for a visit is Lancaster Cathedral. Dedicated to St Peter, Prince of the Apostles it has much fine stained glass and a triptych designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. The church welcomes visitors for prayer and contemplation and also hosts a wide range of excellent concerts and events.

denise procter
good to seen the faith with other pepole in the worlds

John Regan
You are welcome to visit Sts Thomas & Elizabeth Catholic Church at Thurnham. Built 1848 on land given by John Dalton of Thurnham Hall. Includes painting by Henry Doyle, Uncle of Arthur Conan Doyle.

Andrew Scott
I think you should include St Paul's church in Preston. After converting from Christianity to Radio Station. It has probably had more listeners than any other religious building in the country. I attended St Pauls as a boy and we used to play in the churchyard.

Sr Michaela
I found the tour very interesting but thought you might like to include a living monastery, not ruins. You are very welcome to include Monastery Of Our Lady Of Hyning in Warton, Carnforth. We are an international community of sisters ranging from those born locally (me - morecambe) to an african sister from the congo!

mary ashton
i believe that the C.of E.parish church in Warton, Carnforth has connections with George Washington

Mahmud, thank you for your post. You seem to be viewing the Map Of Lancashire Faith as a finished article. The map runs alongside a radio feature in which we visit a faith site and broadcast an item from there on our Sunday morning radio programme. We make, on average, one visit per week and then add each visit to the map as we go along. So we have a very long way to go before we have reflected all aspects of the county's beliefs. It would take us years to create a fully exhaustive digest of every faith site in the county, a task which is beyond our resources. So, over time the map is meant to give a flavour of our rich religious diversity. As with all our broadcasting at BBC Radio Lancashire, we do intend to be completely reflective of the variety of faiths in Lancashire.

Dear Sir/Madam,It is interesting to read that faiths Map of Lancashire, but you have missed out the second largest religion of Britain and the West: ‘Islam’. You have to do research on this topic. Why you have side lined over 100 years old Mosques in Liverpool, London and Cardiff? You have also missed the Hindu Mandir. I am a founder member of first Mosque in Preston City over 45 years ago. Now there are over 14 mosques in Preston with Muslims population over 10,000. I appeal to you to update your website on the faith forum without bias. I am delighted to have received a personally signed Christmas card from our Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown from 10 Downing Street! Finally, May I wish you all a Happy New Year, with economic UP-turn!Mahmud Amirat, (Cert Soc Sci (Open) a student ‘Islam in West’ & politics of co-existenceChair: Preston Gujarat Muslim Welfare Society’

Don't overlook Goodshaw Chapel, Goodshaw, Rossendale. A restored 18thC Baptist Chapel with all it's furnishings complete. In a beautiful location on the edge of the Rossendale moors. (English Heritage)

Sheila Banks
I think you should include Hirstwood Church, it must have a lot of history.

Paul Clarkson
I think you should include St Lawrences in Chorley. Myles Standish, one of the Pilgrim Fathers worshiped there.
