Workplace of the Week

Find out where Gilly and producer Sue Hendey have been as they visit offices around Lancashire for Workplace of the Week...

staff and volunteers from Cats Protection

Monday 23rd - Friday 27th June

The Preston Branch of Cats Protection re-homes between 150 and 200 cats and kittens every year, and in 2007 was the joint top branch in the country for neutering, sharing honours with another North West Branch, Wigan and Atherton. The Branch has approximately 500 members of which many volunteer some of their time every year, or help the branch with donations.

They also provide an array of cat care information via their publication, website and National Helpline, and promote the benefits of neutering. The Preston Branch can be contacted on 01772 436885 or via the website at www.prestoncpl.com

Bay Scan

Monday 16th - Wednesday 18th June

Bay Scan in Greaves Park Lancaster is a private ultrasound service.  Bay Scan began as a new business by three local sonographers and our aim is to provide a high quality, reasonably priced service for those who prefer to have a private scan or for those who wish to have a scan not provided by the NHS.

Our equipment is state of the art, and all staff are highly qualified health service professionals with many years experience. We offer all types of private ultrasound scans including obstetric, gynaecological, abdominal, testicular and musculo-skeletal.

staff from Darwen Market

Monday 9th - Friday 13th June

Darwen Markets are made up of a six day Market Hall, a Market Annexe, both open Monday to Saturday (half day Tuesday) and a three Day Market, open Friday, Saturday and Monday.

We like to think of ourselves as a traditional market selling high quality, fresh, local produce with a wide variety of non-food stalls as well and both the Market Hall and the Annexe house excellent hairdressers.

All three sites offer a selection of sit-in cafes, coffee bars and take away food stalls where homemade food is top of the menu. There are over 130 stalls all under cover offering amazing choice, quality and value.

Darwen Market Hall is a Victorian building and was originally opened in 1871. The hexagonal three day Market opened in 1975.

PNE staff

Adrian, Denise, Zoe and Lyn

Monday 2nd - Friday 6th June

Preston North End, at Deepdale and opposite Moor Park, in the city, is this week's Workplace of the Week.

Home to the Deepdale Duck, a brand new stand and some might say the best football team in the county, if not the world!
