We go behind the scenes with the Blackpool crew of the North West Air Ambulance...

Covering all major motorway incidents and areas with poor and restricted road access in Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and Cumbria, the North West Air Ambulance costs £1.3m a year to maintain.

Established in 1999, it's a registered charity, which receives no mainstream funding, yet it offers a vital service seven days a week, 365 days a year across 5,500 square miles serving a residential population of seven million.

Watch this 15 minute film and find out just what sort of work the Blackpool crew deal with...

  • The fundraisers for the North West Air Ambulance are currently looking for volunteers. If you can help call the Appeals Office on 0151 547 7830.
