Fab four of the field

Four ladies from Chorley gave star performances at the recent Mid Lancs Track and Field Medal Meeting to bring in a series of wins for Chorley AC.

The event which took place at Wigan’s Robin Park saw the fantastic four bring home 12 medals.

Kelly Hilton put together a strong series of performances to win all four of her events taking the Long Jump by 5.16m, High Jump 1.55m and a personal best in the Triple Jump with 11.60m.

Emma-Marie Booth held off stiff competition to take the Gold in the 100m with a time and personal best of 13.3. She also ran another personal best in the 200m and took the Silver medal with a time of 27.7.

Emma Perrin competed in the 400m and received bronze (65.20) and in the Under 17 section, Laura Ashcroft received two bronze medals for the 100m (13.6) and an extremely tight 200m race with a time of 27.80.

All four ladies then went on to win the 4x100m relay in the senior section with a time of 52.70 seconds.

Ben Knight also gave a huge performance in the Under 15 section taking the Gold in the 100m (12.20) and Silver in the 400m (59.10)

Other Clubs competing in the event included:

Preston, Hynburn, Wigan, Blackpool, Bolton, Blackburn, Rossendale, Lytham and St Annes, Kendal, Pendle, Wesham, Ribble Valley, Lancaster and Morcambe, Barrow and Furness and Southport Waterloo.
