Chris Blackburn (Right-back/Centre-back)

Signed by former manager Jim Harvey on a short-term deal in February 2004. Earned a two-year contract and has become a regular in the side after being converted from midfield to defence.

Ged Brannan (Midfield/Defender)

Experienced 35-year-old midfielder who made over two hundred appearances for Tranmere Rovers before joining Manchester City in a £750,000 deal. Moved on to Motherwell (£378,000) and Wigan Athletic (£175,000) before later spells at Radcliffe Borough and Accrington Stanley. Joined Morecambe in November 2005.

Paul Lloyd (Midfield)

Twenty-year-old midfielder who has recently graduated to the senior squad. Went out on loan to Bamber Bridge at the beginning of the year.

Neil Sorvel (Midfield)

Craig Stanley

Experienced former Crewe Alexandra and Shrewsbury Town midfielder who joined Morecambe in January 2007. Also a member of the successful Macclesfield Town Conference winning squad.

Craig Stanley (Midfield)

Signed a two-year deal with Morecambe in the summer of 2006. A 'box-to-box' player who began his career at Walsall. Helped Hereford United to promotion via the play-offs last season, appearing in both semi-final games against Morecambe.

Garry Thompson (Right wing)

Emerged through the youth academy to become one of the club's most exciting prospects. Started as a striker before finding his true position out wide. Went on to gain recognition for the England National Game squad. Signed a new two-year deal last summer despite reported interest from Bury and Accrington Stanley.

Danny Carlton (Striker)

Another product from the youth academy who broke into the first team at eighteen-years-old. Went on to top the club's goalscoring charts twice and earn international recognition for the England National Game squad. Has remained at Christie Park despite continuing interest from Blackpool.

David McNiven (Striker)

Former York striker who joined Morecambe from Scarborough in the summer of 2006. Enjoyed a prolific spell for Leigh RMI in the Conference before moving on to Queen of the South. Returned from a loan spell at Stafford Rangers in mid-March after scoring nine goals in nine appearances.

Michael Howard (Left-back)

Started as a schoolboy at Liverpool before joining Tranmere Rovers as a trainee. Moved to Swansea City and was a regular for five seasons. Snapped up by Morecambe following his release from Vetch Field. Signed a one-year contract in the summer of 2006.

Prolific scorer for the reserves who broke onto the scene during the 2002-03 season. Signed a full contract twelve months later and became a regular in the senior side in 2005-06. Agreed a new two-year contract in the summer of 2006.

Wayne Curtis (Striker/Midfield)

Signed from Barrow-based club Holker Old Boys towards the end of the 1997-98 season. Recovered from twice breaking his leg to become a prolific scorer for the reserves. Loaned out to Barrow and returned to claim a regular first-team place - his form prompted two unsuccessful bids from Rochdale. Netted a penalty in the play-off semi-final defeat against Hereford United last season.

Michael Twiss (Striker)

Began at Manchester United and became a regular for the reserves. Also made a number of senior appearances in various cup competitions before being loaned out to Sheffield United. Scored once for the Blades before joining Port Vale on a free transfer but was released after just one season. Moved into non-league with Leigh RMI before joining Chester City on a two-year deal. Rejected the chance of a return to the Football League with Chester and instead signed a three-year deal with Morecambe, proving a prolific marksman. Subject of a £50,000 bid from former club Chester, he recently signed a three-year contract extension that keeps him at Christie Park until the summer of 2010.
