Wray's Scarecrow Festival

Take a look at some of the best dressed scarecrows from this year's festival - with a movie theme!

Every year towards the end of April, each household in Wray puts out a scarecrow (or ten!) usually based on themes decided by a Scarecrow Committee… yes it really does have one! It's part of the annual Scarecrow Festival which began 12 years ago.

Past themes have included the Olympics (1996), UK Election (1997), World Cup (1998) and Icons of the Century (1999). During the week, scarecrows are judged and prizes awarded for the best ones and this year the themes include Hollywood Blockbuster Movies and Cartoon Characters...

Take a look at some of the best dressed and listen again to Sally Naden’s chat with Jim Bowen...
