Eighteen months ago BBC Radio Lancashire listeners helped save the Aids Orphans of Mulanje from starvation They contributed 17,000 kilo bags of rice which were sent off to Malawi by container ship - the children are still eating some of it today… Now FOMO, the Preston based charity which looks after the 3,600 Aids orphans of Mulanje, would like the children to learn how to be self sufficient and is making an Appeal for packets of vegetable seeds. The children can grow many of the vegetables which we grow here in Lancashire - but they can grow them much quicker. So they are asking for packets of the following - - Peppers
- Broad beans
- Broccoli
- Calabrese
- Cabbage
- Kale
- Chard
- Chicory
- Climbing french beans
- Courgette
- Cucumber
- Leeks
- Lettuce
- Marrow
- Melon
- Pea
- Pumpkin
- Squash
- Radish seeds
Please next time you are in a Garden Centre or supermarket, just pick up a packet of seeds and post or bring it to us at BBC Radio Lancashire or take it direct to Mary Woodworth who founded FOMO.
