Talat-Farooq Awan

Talat-Farooq Awan

Talat hails from Essex and loves fiddling with his Tablas...

Talat hails from Essex, where he joined his local station Essex FM. A few years later he was producer for the BBC Asian Network and in between jobs he ran temporary community radio stations.

Talat-Farooq Awan

He also works on TV documentaries for various departments in the BBC and has done a stint at ITN.

He's been in Lancashire for six years and looks after the Asian programmes for Radio Lancashire and Manchester.  He presents Indus a news magazine programme and Saaz an Asian classical show.

If he hadn't worked in the media he would have been a doctor "ha ha" or maybe a diplomat.

He loves to unwind by doing a spot of cooking and fiddling with his Tablas.

Talat-Farooq Awan apart from being an incredible Producer is a great human being, down to earth in every respect and simple. His unique personality is a model to many who strive to reach their goal. In my “just began” profession in the “creative field” I have an opportunity to come across many Producers but in my unpretentious feelings I dare say Talat is the best. I am proud Talat is my Icon and I owe every bit of my achievement, if at all, to Talat. Talat’s dedication to his work is simply praiseworthy and contagious. I am a big fan of Talat-Farooq Awan.

Hi, I enjoyed the programme very much this evening, particularly as I live & work in Bolton. The feature on the forthcoming Bolton Bazaar was both interesting & exciting, however I was disappointed that presenter Talat Awan didn't allow more time for chef Aazam Ahmad to explain more about his cooking and recipes.I appreciate that time is limited, but I would love to know how to cook shark with mango sauce!!Any chance of a cooking feature with Aazam & other Asian chefs as a regular part of the show??

Tahira Ahmed
