Gwyneth Bough

Gwyneth Bough

Gwyneth from Garstang enjoys creating portraits in pastels...

Gwyneth's profile...

montage of Gwyneth's work

"I am married with a nine year old daughter, who is the subject of quite a few of my pictures. I like to draw/paint people, usually children. I use pastel mainly, but sometimes I use acrylic on canvas because I like the bright colours.

Two years ago I went to Ghana as part of the 'Garstang/Ghana Exchange' where we visited a village called New Koforidua which is now our twin town. Garstang is the world's first Fairtrade town (a title we are very proud of!), and the exchange was a chance to see how Fairtrade helps cocoa farmers in Ghana.

I did some portraits in pastel of the children I met there, and had an exhibition in Garstang Arts Centre last year.

I used to have a small art shop in Garstang, but gave it up last Christmas, as I felt it was time to move on and do something else.

Since then I have worked in a clothing shop in Preston, but decided to spend the summer hols at home with my daughter (something I haven't done for five years).

At the moment I am selling off my old stock from the art shop on the internet, and am looking for a half decent job!

I do take commissions - I have done pastel portraits of children and also pets."
