Damien Lee

Damien Lee Uncovered

By AJ
Since starting his career 18 years ago - Damien Lee has graced the decks at huge venues, worked alongside Sonique and DJed almost everywhere!

At present, Lee DJ’s twice a month at Selfridges, plays all over the North West, London and Ibiza and he produces his own tracks. He also holds a residency in Blackburn’s Evolution Lounge which is where I checked him out!

So how long have you been a DJ?

I’ve been DJing for 18 years and was first booked in a local pub in Farnworth.  I was 17 and just really excited.  Things just went from there really.

What has been your biggest gig?

Last year in Holland at a festival called ‘fairytales’ where over 5000 people attended.  The crowd was loving it - so reading the crowd.  Having all those people appreciate you feels fantastic.

What has been your best DJing experience?

A great experience was Hacienda in 96 but, it definitely has to be when I played with Sonique in Birmingham 96.  It was awesome.  There was a full house and the atmosphere was amazing.

Who are you influenced by?

Rodger Sanchez, Warren Clarke, David Penn and dj Chus because they’re all top producers as well as great DJs.

What are your future aspirations?

Well I started making my own tracks last year but have been making my own re-edits of tracks for a few years just to give me more of an edge.  So I hope to make more tracks and DJ in USA and Holland and even more. Fingers crossed, get signed too!
