Who: Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines is from Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. She came to England in 1939 as one of nearly 700 Jewish children saved from the Nazis by Sir Nicholas Winton, a Stock Exchange clerk who earned the nickname 'Britain's Schindler'.

Where in Lancashire: She's lived in Preston since 1945 and was married to Sir George Grenfell-Baines, a local lad and architect, whose firm designed the city's bus station. Milena is an expert cook and has written two recipe books for the remoska - a traditional Czech cooking pot.

Chances: Milena was an interpreter/tour guide/all round host to the Czech team that reached the final of the European Championship in England in 1996. She thinks the team should do well, with experienced players she knows, like Nedved and Poborsky, and younger stars like Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Top facts: The contact lens and sugar cube were invented by Czechs. The Czechs make great beer, but the other national drink is a herbal liquer called Becherovka.
