The Queen's visit to Blackburn

All the excitement of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh's visit to Blackburn and the Ribble Valley...

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh arrived in Blackburn on the Royal train, The Royal Messenger, where they were greeted by children from local schools before the Queen unveiled a plaque at the new £45m Mall shopping development in the town centre.

This is the Queen's first visit since 1987 and hundreds of people lined Church Street in Blackburn for a glimpse of the Royal couple before they left to visit Whitewell.

The Queen coming to Blackburn today, reminded me of 1953 when we waved our little Union Jacks at The Queen and Duke as they sailed past us kids from Moss Street in her gleaming Rolls Royce on her way to Mullards, D,you know that was 53 years ago, and only seems like Yesterday,Holey ///
