My faith and me - Christianity

Jennifer tells us that being a Christian doesn't mean you're boring!

What is your faith?

Christiananity

What's the best thing about your faith?

I used to worry about death a lot, now I don't worry about it anymore. I love the fact that my father is up there watching over me, and it helps me to know I have something in common with my friends.

How easy it to talk to your friends and colleagues about your faith?

It isn't, but I'm getting better and don't make up an excuse to run away when they ask me what I believe.

What's the biggest lie you have ever heard told about your faith?

I don't know. People think that we don't drink or go out clubbing and have to go to church - that's funny. Some denominations don't drink but we still have lots of fun!

Who is the most inspirational person you've met through your faith?

I have quite a few - my chaplain at college was good, I have a couple of friends who are monks in Ampleforth in York. Other than that there are people at my church back home, and lots of people who are my Christian friends.

Who is the most famous person that follows your faith?

Lots of people are Christians. Erm... Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson and Elijah Wood are all Christian actors, but I'm not sure what denomination they are.

Is there a part of your faith that you could manage without?

Statues and big fancy churches. They are amazing to look at, and I like them, especially in places like Durham and York, but I could survive without them. I need my bible and instruments and music though. And of course I don't think I'd make it without my friends!
