The Bag Awards

BBC Radio Lancashire bags

BBC Radio Lancashire’s Bag Awards

**** The entries are all in and they are currently being categorized for judging next week. The winners will be announced very soon. ****

CATEGORIES

Landmark Bag...

For this category we are looking for pictures of the bag taken with famous monuments and landmarks across the globe.  For example; you could take your bag to London and capture it on the lions in Trafalgar Square.  The panel of judges will look for originality, photographic flair and landmark status.

Highest Bag...

In this category the panel of judges are looking for the bag to make it to the highest place.  This could be a hill, tower, mountain or anything else you can think of!  Photograph your bag in a lofty spot and enter this category.  Don’t forget to record the height as accurately as possible.

Out of Place Bag...

This category has quite an open scope for your imagination.  For this section the panel of judges will be looking for originality.  They’ll be looking for pictures of bags in strange places where you might not normally see a bag.  So you could snap your bag at a wedding or in the goals on a football field.

Travel Bag...

This category is for the bag that travels the most miles outside of the British Isles.  The starting point for measuring miles is BBC Radio Lancashire and the bag must be pictured in each location to qualify for entry.  This is a category you can build up over the year.  Judges will calculate mileage using a mapping service.

Events Bag...

The Events Bag must be photographed at a public event.  For example concerts, theatres, football matches etc.  This category is not about the size of the event but how the bag is used and photographed.

Showbiz Bag...

This is the category that is looking for pictures of celebrities with your bag.  The panel of judges will be looking for the best picture and the most famous celeb!

Bravest Bag...

This category is for the pluckiest bags.  The judges are looking for bags of courage.  We’re looking for bags that go the extra mile.  You could photograph your bag abseiling down the Grand Canyon or it could be braving the elements at sea.  Please do not mis-treat your bag and always use your bag safely.

Blinged Up / Best Dressed Bag...

Phil Cunliffe with a bag over his head

This award is for the best decorated bag.  You can bling up your bag, dress it up, make it into someone famous, in fact you can do almost anything to it!!  Just remember to stick to the Bag Rules!!  Judges are looking for creativity in this category.

Charity Bag...

This award will go to the bag that raises the most money for charity.  The bag could run the London Marathon, it could sit in a bath of beans, just make sure you photograph it and tell us how much it raised and which charity the money was raised for.

Boring Bag...

This category is looking for the bag without a personality.  The judges will be looking for pictures of bags looking miserable in the most miserable places.  Your creativity and imagination is needed for this one!

Photographs can be entered into more than one category.  There are two ways of entering your photograph…..
