Carole Turner

Carole Turner

She was born over the border, but she loves living here.

'Variety is the spice of life', is our Carole's motto after previous 'lives' as a bookseller, PA and primary school teacher, she should know!

Although born in Yorkshire, Carole has spent most of her life - apart from a brief three years studying in London during the 80's - in Lancashire and wouldn't have it any other way.

Her time spent working on the BBC bus touring the towns and villages (not to mention the pubs!) of the county has simply confirmed her love of the place, and she can't imagine wanting to live anywhere else.

Carole produces John Gillmore, weekdays 1pm to 4pm on BBC Radio Lancashire, and she steps into his presenting shoes when he's off on his jollies!

Sadly missed as a presenter, get her back on with a show of her own.

Paul. Haslingden
Yo..Carole, we like your cheery voice, personality and intelligence. Keep smiling..."Respect" (in the true meaning of the word).

andrea
carole were are you. i am missing you on the radio

matty
hi mr epton and new charter hows your trip

Paul, Haslingden
Great show. Always very professional and it's interesting to get a purely female perspective on issues. Often when a man is around women become inhibited in expressing themselves.

denise procter
good to listen to

Anna Psychic Clairvoyant
What a great show ladies @ lunch is. I had a fantastic time as a guest yesterday. Thanks Carole and Sally

Sue Helms
WOW Carole in stockings ,what a`sight that would be.

Andy.
Agree with Andim, you two are like two schoolgirls giggling away at yourselves.Time for a change BBC.

ANNE WILLIAMS
What a great girl she is, she is able to motivate people and make them feel at ease with her bubbly nature and winning smile, a lovely girl, are you sure she's not a lancashire lass !!!!love Anne

Andim
When will the BBC change this programme? We don't need ladies @ lunch or lads @ lunch we need lancashire@lunch with one male and one female presenter and a range of guests male and female. Soon please!

john jones
Did a far better night programme than the rubbish Ladies at Lunch

George
She's a super presenter, funny, always interested in what others have to say, and very attractive too! Shame she's not on tv, far more attractive that Livesy!

John in Poulton
Hi Carole It was really nice to meet both you and Sally last Monday. You both make a good team together and a great talk show too. Keep up the good work.

JOYCE
LADIES AT LUNCH NOT VERY GOOD THEY WILL NOT LET ONE PERSON TALK AT A TIME THEY INTERUPT THE GUESTS TO MUCH INSTEAD OF LETTING THEM ANSWER THE QUESTION THEY ARE BEING ASKED. I HOPE THEY PLAY THE TAPES BACK. I TURN THE PROGRAMME OFF SOMETIMES AND LISTEN TO ANOTHER PROGRAMME LET ONE PERSON TALK AT A TIME.

denise procter
good to listen to

Danielle Fell
She Very Pritty And Fuuny .

Mollie Entwistle
Pat in Leyland, many of us find Carole talking about holistic therapy, fascinating. She`s open-minded and excellent at her job. And a lot of people are very interested in holistic therapies, good health is good. Well done Carole, and Radio Lancs.

david woodward
great show wish you could do your show so can be downloaded on podcast.is there any plan to do that in the future?

denise procter

Jim in Harwood

Finbar
Carole - what happened to the two astrologers whoused to grace your late show? They would be good regulars on Ladies who Lunch

Kerry Austin
im thriteen now but you used to teach me at Brindle Gregson Lane primary school, Hoghton. You might remember me as the little girl with the fringe who cried at everything xx

Plato, Fulwood.
Barnsey is good at night but you set a wonderful, friendly and interesting standard.   Canl understand you wanting a normal time slot but will you be returning to the late night slot soon for a while at least.   We miss you.

Sheila
We miss you at night Carole - what's on now is a turn off and I can't listen during the day. Sheila x

Ben Moulton
haven't seen u in over a year, I hear u bin doin a day show instead of a night show. Good Luck. p.s. that night was great I really enjoyed bein on the radio.bye!

Ann in Penwortham
I find the football and sport coverage is very male dominated, so it's nice to have a bit of 'women time'. Surely, woman's hour has survived the test of time? Thank you Radio Lancs for a great programme.

Bill
To whoever posted the response to my comment (sorry, it's not clear): So, because the show in no way appeals to me, I don't know what I'm talking about and I'm a raving mysoginist! You couldn't be farther from the truth. Free speech is, I think, still permitted-think it's you who should realise it's 2008!

Margaret Smith Brierfield
Love the show you and Sally keep up the good work.

to Bill
You don't know what you're talking about. I'm glad I'm not Mrs Bill - bet you have her chained to the sink darning your socks. Welcome to 2008, Bill.

Bill
No offence to the presenters in question, who are clearly very popular with certain listeners but how can a prime time show aimed almost solely at women be justified? It holds no attraction whasoever for me and, and I would hazard, most male listeners. In the interests of equality I think you should perhaps balance things out by having a show on alternate days called 'Men @ lunch down the pub'or something, or better still, just have a show aimed equally at both men and women.

bazza
bring back sexy carole. as i love to hear the turners tails. all the best in the new show

derek
annoying

mark from ormskirk
carole your sadly missed on the evening programme but i love the new daytime slot with sally your a breath of fresh air

To JonS
what are you talking about? it is a breath of fresh air and I love it.

JonS
Sorry ladies, but this lunchtime "ladies that grunt" programme is a total turn-off. Great listening if you have the brain of a pumpkin. Or gerkhin. But hardly stimulating. Stop the hyena cackling and the feminine garden-wall gossip and start presenting ina way that the male species of the population can appreciate please.

Barry
Mike - down boy! Carole is married. Besides, you'd have to fight me for her first. I have met her and the photos don't do justice!

Mike from Wigan
Just seen Carole on the web for the first time......is she single??? Wow...is she gorgous!!!

JOYCE
Carole go back to reading ghost stories instead of the lunchtime programme. Too many people talk at once.

Tony Beattie (Chorley Lancs)

For Patrick - and anyone else who would like to be in the studio audience for Carole and Sally's programme - it's easy! Just call our reception on (01254) 262411, and tell us when you would like to come in...we prefer you to book, so we can make sure we have enough biscuits to go round!

patrick
