Sally Naden

Sally Naden

Sally went to stage school with Bonnie Langford and Lena Zavaroni.

When she was 11, Sally attended stage school along with Bonnie Langford and Lena Zavaroni. Sally worked as a professional dancer all over the country.

She worked as a Tiller Girl at Morecambe's Winter Gardens and at Summerland on the Isle of Man. It was there she and her husband Dave escaped the fire that killed 53.

Eventually she settled down in Blackpool with Dave and became a full-time mum to daughter Diana.

Indra
Both Mum and I loved being at the show today, we are certainly coming again! :D

Tania
Fab show yesterday Sally. Akhtar, Annette and Simon were great guests and worked well together too. +we got strawberries :D

Jilly
Sally, when you have a guest who happens to be gay why do you have to ask them when they found out and if they were bullied and how they felt etc. If a guest is straight you don't ask them how they felt when they got to puberty and they realised they fancied people of the opposite sex and how they felt about it. You're gay, right let's move on. And if you're a drag queen it goes without saying that you probably are so no need to go there is there?

Finbar
Bob - Sally is from the south of England, hence the mixture of accents. I think she sounds fine.

Dil
You have one of the friendliest voices I have ever heard.

Bob
I enjoy your programme but enjoy it much more when you speak with your natural northern accent rather than trying to remember to pronounce "long a's" as in ahfternoon, ahsk etc. When you were talking about "laffing" today it was much more natural. Why try to sound like a southerner ?

John Hitchon
Hi Sally,I really enjoyed your show & my visit to the studio you had a great band on - The Swing Commanders it's really nice to hear true musicians, even got to speak live on air with John Gilmore & Gerald Jackson at the Silver Surfers Day.

Thomas.
This is a great show, and I know everyone who sits in the audience with find the whole event really interesting, and so good to see "live radio" in the making.

WENDY
Why is this good presenter wasted on this program and who picks the guests for her, its becoming very boring listening.

Finbar
Your loss, Danielle. You are missing a lively show with a darlin' presenter. Keep it up, Sally, you're a grand 'un

danielle
heres my listening for radio lancs 7 am till 9am then ted 9 am till 11am then switch off till 1 pm

denise procter
ther show is good to seen

Kitty
How interesting to have peek into the world of MENSA from your guest Barry yesterday... definately brought about a better class of programme! xx

Christine Loat
listened to this on line as I am a friend of Margaret Owen who was on the panel today. Loved the programme; great chat and lovely music. I'll be tuning in again.

Kelly
Hi Sally. Brilliant show. Much better on your own as you are more natural. (but don't tell Carole) Keep up the good work. xx

jane
please could we have one programme without a charity appeal or someone saying how wonderful they are ,, charity is big buisness with a turnover of 48 billion ,, yes billion

Anna
I disagree with Andrew. It's good to be just able to listen to a conversation. Great guests and good talking points. If you want to interact, Andrew, go and speak to Jeremy Kyle

john
you make my journey to preston in mornings enjoyable thanks

Andrew.
What's the point if listeners cannot interact?people have better things to do rather than listen to the full show, it would be better to be able to ring in and put our point of view across.

Paul in Burnley
Really enjoyed Tuesdays show. The astrologer/witch was brilliant. Can you have her on again to talk more about magic please?

John from Poulton - Fylde
Hi Sally Still always a great show but was as happened to Carol you were always a great team on Ladies at Lunch....I must come down to the studio again sometime...really enjoyed the show last time.

Paul, Haslingden
Brilliant programme on Thursday,19th March. A joy to listen to. Just the right blend of guests.

denise procter
good to listen to

Peter, IPSWICH MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A.
I used to listen to your programmes in Burnley until i moved to the states to live in Jan. I now listen on my computor when i can

Maureen, Rossendale
What an enthralling 2 hours of interview with Sharif from Burnley. If you read his story in a book you wouldn't believe it! Had the radio on in every room so I wouldn't miss any!

Anna Procter
next time I come to ladies at lunch keep that mic away talk to someone else in the stuido audience

Barry, Blackpool
Don't know about Ladies at Lunch, but my better half could not eat her din-dins after hearing Miss Behave's descriptive sword swallowing stories and demo.

Paul, Haslingden
When you think about it, Ladies at Lunch is a great example of what local radio should really be all about. Interesting local guests with a story to tell, lively debate, occasional live music, and people can just wander in off the street and take part. Great stuff. What a pity the continuity is spoilt by the amount of trailers, jingles and muzak.

Barry, Blackpool
Paul - thanks for the advice. Do I rub it on?

Paul, Haslingden
Keep up the great work Sally and Carole, the show is a real treat. Barry - try a teaspoonful of Manuka Honey twice a day.

Anna Procter
great show loved seeing the guide dogs

Barry, Blackpool
I took Sally's advice from today's show, opened my front door and threw my arms open to the elements outside. Does anyone have any tips for curing a chesty cold?

Paul
Off work and what do I find, "lads at lunch". Has the other tripe gone for ever or is it just temporary ?

Tom in Rossendale
I'm with Paul! Sally and Carole are lively and a good listen. Keep it going!

Paul, Haslingden
Now Mildred nothing is as boring as Steve Royle. Even Joe Wilson talking to his audience as if they are 5 year olds. Great show girls - keep it up.

Mildred
Come on girls it's becoming boring its like listening to S ROYLE every day a turn off.

claire
Hi Sally, I love to listen to Ladies at Lunch and tune in whenever I can. Thank you for a great show and maybe one day I will be able to come and be in the audiance.Hope you have a lovely Christmas.

Finbar
Sally - surely you could have switched on Chorley lights by waving your magic wand.

june
Great programme today (tues), very topical subjects especially about autism and peoples experiences, keep up the good work

mel
im with Janet, lets be honest ladies the show has run its course now, lets get back to a traditional radio show, its ok to have guests and thing but just gossiping and the like is for sunday mornings.

John in Poulton

VERA
Sally its about time you got some differant guests on your program.when i sometimes listen you either have the woman from M Cooksons or the woman from the bookshop Kirkham.

Jim in Harwood
You're great ! I'll miss you if you leave let alone if the show goes .

mel jones
hiya sally, im sorry but today i had to turn you off as im sick of all your guest and yourselves male bashing, its too much, men are under-represented on the ladies that lunch, oh im sorry i forgot about man friday "WOW" all you do when there is a man friday is flirt, then having ago at tom jones!, i think sigmond froyd had it right when he said that girls and then into womanhood have penis envy, leave us blokes alone we're not all bad, and what about the stuff we have to put up with, equal rights what a joke you want your cake and eat it. Mel from blackburm...get the bus back sally thats when you shone, meeting joe bloggs every day.

Mark
Sally your talents are wasted on 2hrs of utter tripe. We would be much better of having you on 9 till whenever.

margaret smith Brierfield
I listen to the programme every day,I do enjoy listening to you and Carole.Keep up the good work all the best to you both.

The Mad Male
Sally Naden is one of the nicest persons I have ever met.Thankfully the BBC have at last allowed her to blossom again in a show where her warmth, sincerity, good humour, compassion and sheer pottiness shine through like a beacon!

J
SALLY THE FRENCH PRESIDENTS WIFE WAS SMART AND HOW ABOUT YOU BEING IN THE NUDE ON YOUR TABLE FOR THE CALENDAR. LEAVE HER ALONE SHE IS OK AND SHE IS A GOOD LOOKING WOMEN. WHY DONT YOU ALL TALK ONE AT A TIME AND NOT ALTOGETHER ON YOUR SHOW IT SOUNDS TERRIBLE I SWITCH OFF QUITE OFTEN BRING BACK THE BUS..

chris Jones
