The club hold regular meetings on a Monday evening at Parkwood Community Centre, Rainham, Kent.

They are members of the KCPA (Kent County Photographic Association) and have regular slide and print competitions with other camera clubs.

Recent Outings:

Steam Trains at Rolvenden

Seascape shots along the Kent Coast

The Isle of Wight

Rare bird of prey sanctuaries.

A rare Leopard sanctuary.

Their programme of events runs from late September to late May. During that period they hold competitions and studio sessions. Members also attend competitions with other KCPA affiliated camera clubs.

"Off the programme" events also take place. These are typically studio photography sessions with models at an external studio.

Also there are days out for landscapes, seascapes etc. These outings are also help to bond friendships between members of the club.

Members' photos

Members are a mixture of ex-professionals who have been part-time wedding photographers using large cameras, to complete novices with compact point-and-shoot equipment.

The club has a small selection of studio lighting and backdrop equipment. Some members also bring their own studio gear which comes in handy when several photographers are sharing at a shoot.

Members of the Parkwood Camera Club

All members of the club are constantly improving their compositions. This comes about by listening to the KCPA Judges' comments about their work and applying those techniques.

According to the club's secretary, Glen Diamond, "there is always something fresh to learn."
