Julie is a Kent girl born and bred, and she started her career in radio on a local independent station back in 1985...... (she knows that this does seem hard to believe but it's true!).
After many years as the flying eye around the county she can honestly say she knows the area pretty well - although it still didn’t stop her getting lost time and again when she ventures into Tunbridge Wells.

Her 18 years have taken Julie into many realms of radio and television, where she has presented many different topics from travel news for ITN to selling holidays across Europe on Sky Television. But in true Maddocks style she has returned to her roots of Kent, and couldn’t be happier. "It’s great to be back on a regular basis, I’ve been with Radio Kent presenting various programmes, including of course, Gardening for three years on a Sunday Morning.
Julie is married to Glen and lives in West Kent with her two sons Matthew & Michael and their Beagle ‘Solo’. There’s nothing Julie likes better than tromping through the Kent countryside with her family and then going home to a wonderful Sunday Lunch together - with nothing else to do than sit back and relax in front of a good film with a nice cup of tea!
