Radio
Kent's new £1.5 million studios at Sun Pier, Chatham, were opened
by Princess Alexandra. She was shown around the station manager
Mike Marsh.

1975
|
A
soldier's local, The Hare and Hounds, Maidstone, was targeted by
IRA bombers. It was evacuated in time, thanks to the vigilance of
the landlord. No one was injured.

1978
|
The
North Downs Way, the long distance footpath which runs from Dover
to Faversham in Surrey, was officially opened by the Archbishop
of Canterbury.
