Yep... I've seen many many balloons in my life so I'm an expert on balloons when I see them and this is definitely a balloon. It is a well known fact that they are very luminous and can also out run any aircraft that uses highly volatile fuel. Helium propulsion is far faster than anything else.
Kevin Smith, Surrey, BC, Canada

This is just another example of extraterrestrial intellegence visiting Earth. Get used to it.
Herman, Chico, California, USA

I trust material coming from a respected source like the BBC and from the story it seems like this is some sort of moving object and not any sort of balloon. However, it bothers me that there isn't one frame of the recording avalible at the origional resolution. I can barely tell if the helicopter is flying over a town or a gravel pit, much less any details about the blob of light. Also, where is the interview of the pilots? They could tell more about the object than a low quality internet video.
Tom Buckner, Memphis, TN US

This is most certainly faked. It is a poor fake at that. I've analysed the video extensively and it is obvious that it was altered. The audio is horrible. I could even make out points where sounds were inserted. Not convincing at all. Though it will convince some of the more feeble minded.
Ketchya, USA

Those ships from space are generating those lovely crop designs and when the crops are harvested, they just fly around keeping watch over us. And because of their different energy, you don't want to get too close to them. They do come in from various star systems and though we don't like to admit it, they are smarter than we are.
Susan Aiu, Aiea, Hawaii, USA

I live a few miles away from George Bush's ranch here in Texas, I've seen the same object over his land a few times. I never would have thought it was a UFO...
Chazz Milli, Crawford, Texas, USA

I hate to break it to you people, but it's really a US military aircraft - a very advanced one, but an aicraft nonetheless. Probably using nanotechnology (the way of the future) and other advanced technologies (hell they just released photos of the most advanced fighter just a week or so ago...don't you think they've got other projects more advanced?).
Conor, Washington DC

IT IS A UFO. Do you know what it is? Does it fly? THEN IT'S A UFO!!! Do you think that calling it a UFO automatically means it's ET?! It's just an unidentified flying object! Sorry, ... that just REALLY erks me. Move along, nothing more to see here.
Kern, Texas, USA

It looks real to me. It's moving super fast, faster than a weather balloon and it's stays around and moves in every direction. A weather balloon can't do that.
John Davidson, Montreal, Canada

For years before the US airforce declassified the sr-71 blackbird people who saw it thought it was a UFO. Same with the first jets. People who are basically unfamiliar with military technology often mistake afterburners, on conventional jet aircraft for some amazing piece of technology. Add to that the fact that the US airforce is thought to have several types not yet declassified and things become even more interesting. Now, a review. Jets have been around for 50 years. People have been seeing UFOs for 50 years. The US airforce has classified aircraft that are explainable with human technology. The US is currently stepping up its international recon efforts because of this ludicrous war on terrorism. I myself have been a party to several "sightings" the most recent involved four males in a car going "look! a UFO! Hey that does look like a UFO..." It turned out to be the blimp. Get a grip people. Give yourselves some credit. Humans are fully capable of coming up with horrendous war technologies all by themselves.
Ben Jacobs, Worcester, Massachusettes

They have been here and they are here. Just like the chap from NJ that commented, it is a gradual process of introduction. The powers that be feel we "can't handle the truth". I hope they feel that way for a VERY good reason or we are in big trouble. Think about it, we have problems getting along with our own RACE - ethnic, religious, political, etc... Whether we are letting them or not, they are here. They are either studying us or we are a Inter-galactic Zoo where the sign says : "Don't Feed This Lifeform!". We just may be the biggest idiots in the Milky Way, and they come from light-years around to learn how "NOT" to be. And BTW... that could not be the convenient 'balloon'... I am a pilot of many years and I have never seen anything like that.
P.T. Hawkins, Kansas City, KS

It's odd that a lot of the people commenting on this video are able to discern that it's definitely NOT an alien ship, although they can't say what it actually IS. I don't know what it is, maybe alien, maybe not. It's not wise, however, to be so sure it's NOT something if you don't know anything at all.
Bert, Aurora, Colorado

Well, it was something real... and really strange. How bizarre!!
Michele Bryant, Sequim, WA. USA

Khrys, London, UK: It's equally as ridiculous for you to assume its a fake or mere balloon, what's your basis for those agruments? Tell me have you EVER seen a balloon move like this?
Devil, USA
