Walks: Sarre's The Crown |
 |
|
| Distance
2.75 miles. The walk is all on a good surface, with no stiles
and is over mostly level terrain. |
Sarre
is between Canterbury and Ramsgate, and the walk starts at the The
Crown pub on the north side of the A253.
1.
Leave the front of the pub and turn right to the road junction and
cross the main road ahead. Go to the right of the pale coloured
house and follow the path on the right. Follow the hedge on the
right.
2.
At the end of the hedge, go straight on between the fields and then
between the hedges. You will pass a metal gate, after which you
should keep going ahead towards the distant church.
3.
Follow the path until it takes you onto the road. Turn left for
30 yards until you reach a junction. Turn left as the road takes
you through the village of St Nicholas at Wade.
4.
Opposite the church turn left along Down Barton Road and then into
Summer Road.
5.
Follow the path you came along earlier but towards the start, until
you reach the corner of the wood near the windmill where you should
turn left until you reach the road. If you turn right at the road
you will end up back at The Crown.
