Seals off the coast of Thanet

If you're a bit of an animal lover, don't miss this rare opportunity to see and possibly swim with seals off the Thanet Coast. SEE DATES

The trip is being offered this summer (July and August) by the Thanet Coast Project.

The three hour adventure onboard an open yacht, sails out from Minnis Bay, Birchington on a range of dates in July and August. The journey involves a rubber dinghy transfer from the shore to the yacht before sailing off to spot a range of diverse marine wildlife just a few miles from Thanet's coastline.

The 26 miles of Thanet's beautiful coastline is home to many different features from the unique chalk reefs, velvet-swimming crabs to the nationally important Turnstones, which migrate here every winter from Canada.

"The seal trips have proved to be extremely popular again this year, so it is highly recommended to that anyone interested in coming, contacts the Visitor Information Centre as soon as possible to be sure of getting a place.
