trip is being offered this summer (July and August) by the Thanet
The three hour adventure onboard an open yacht, sails out from Minnis
Bay, Birchington on a range of dates in July and August. The journey
involves a rubber dinghy transfer from the shore to the yacht before
sailing off to spot a range of diverse marine wildlife just a few
miles from Thanet's coastline.
26 miles of Thanet's beautiful coastline is home to many different
features from the unique chalk reefs, velvet-swimming crabs to the
nationally important Turnstones, which migrate here every winter
Biggs, Thanet Coast's Education Officer, said: "These Wildlife
Sailing trips provide an exciting and rare chance for local people
to see the diverse range of marine wildlife found in the sea and
sandbanks, just a few miles from our beaches.
"The seal trips have proved to be extremely popular again this
year, so it is highly recommended to that anyone interested in coming,
contacts the Visitor Information Centre as soon as possible to be
sure of getting a place.

your binoculars to see the seals, birds, crabs and fish close up
