Sellindge Music Festival

On the weekend of 6th and 7th June 2009, BBC Kent Introducing was at the first event in Kent's music festival season.

For the second year running, the Sellindge Music Festival hosted a weekend of live music at Hope Farm near Ashford.

This year the lineup featured headliners Supergrass and The Young Knives - and the BBC Kent Introducing stage was there too, at the forefront of local and live music with 20 great Kent acts performing across the weekend.

The lineup of the BBC Kent Introducing stage showcased the amazing variety of music that Kent has to offer, and featured some of our favourite bands who have been played on the BBC Kent Introducing show over the past year.

It included Maidstone hip-hop from Outa City Committee, rock and metal from Circle Of Rage and Shadow Aspect, indie-pop from Bromley's Bruised Beauties and The Suggestions from Sittingbourne, and loads more.

Also on the lineup were Folkestone band Elephants, North Kent band Kids Love Lies and Tunbridge Wells' Tom Williams & The Boat, all of whom have recorded Maida Vale sessions for Huw Stephens Introducing on Radio 1 and performed at Radio 1's Big Weekend.
