Eileen Booker at the Marlowe Theatre
Tour around the Marlowe
Eileen Booker is the administrator of the Friends of the Marlowe. She takes us on a tour around the theatre.
Eileen's involvement with the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury goes back more than 20 years. When her husband's job transferred from Bromley to the city, Eileen took on the job of secretary to the Theatre Director.
When the Friends of the Marlowe was formed, Eileen was the obvious choice to run the organisation which now has 10,218 members, making it the the largest friends group in the country.
During her tours around the theatre Eileen shares stories of visitors to the theatre, both backstage and front of house, including the ghost of a monk. She also takes groups of Friends to visit other theatre productions and historic places of interest all over the country.
