Homeless in Kent

Imagine having nowhere to live in freezing weather conditions. Here are stories from some of the county's homeless people and those who try to help them.

The Tuesday Team

Gearing up for a cold night ahead, the Tunbridge Wells Street team sets up in one of the towns car parks.

It's a favourite haunt for the homeless - there's precious little warmth, but at least there's shelter, food, and company.

Meena is one of the Tuesday team and she explains why she chooses to spend her evenings helping others.

 Helping the homeless

The street teams work virtually every day of the year, they often see up to 15 people turn up when temperatures drop below freezing their presence is all the more valued.

Lorraine's story

Lorraine put on her best outfit and as many coats as she could and went to live on the streets.

Now, two children and a mental breakdown later, she's been housed by the Cyrenians. How has she managed to turn her life around?
