They are considered to be the "forgotten" working poor. Jo Burn went to meet a Margate woman who works in Dover. She has two jobs and although she earns £17,000 much of her salary goes on university debt and petrol to get her to work. She's lucky if she has £10 a week to spend on food. Here's her story: Help playing audio/video The National Consumer Council is highlighting the plight of these people. Nicola O'Reilly is a Policy Expert with the organisation and she has found that there are many people of working age, both single and couples, but without children struggling to make ends meet. "It's absolutely important that the Government focus on child poverty and families but we must not forget about people who either don't have children yet or have raised their children and are still struggling, or people who are going to have children in the future."
