We don't only play unsigned music - we also like to play tracks from more established Kent acts (like Good Books and Orbital) to encourage pride in our local music scene. Although our show is primarily focused on nurturing new talent, we won't stop supporting local musicians once they've made it big - it also helps to give hope and encouragement to up-and-coming acts!

Why play music that is too LOUD to hear, and too SHOUTY to pick out words? Get the thrash metal off. i dont want to hear the vocalisation of someone vomiting down a microphone.

Play something louder indeed! am bored of indie! lets hear some Sparki Dee seeing as people keep going on about how good he is. Also why are you playing Orbital? there signed! and have been since the early 90's I thought this show was for the unsigned? come on BBC Kent sort it out, we want variation we want more dance music something LOUDER! like Dave said. Dont lose any more listeners BBC Kent just play what we want, if someone like Sparki has this strong following why dont you feature him? surely thats the whole point of the show its like a little stepping stone for producers, bands and dj's. i hope to hear Sparki soon and also more dance music if not then I dont think I'll tune in anymore.

Great discussion about Sparki. Love the passion. Seem to remember a similar debate a couple of years ago with Floors & Walls. F&W are now incredible and about to break through. The boys at BBC Int. did give them some serious airplay and support, as they have with other bands, but only when they felt it was right. Give the boys a chance and they will no doubt give Sparki a go too.

it's all very well saying there's too much indie etc on the show, but there isn't that much of anything else locally! kent has rock/indie scenes etc but not masses of dance stuff. although the orbital/herve and deadmau5/jacob plant tracks were awesome. agree with bert about sparki dee - average. x

I agreed with Ant initially and thought ok if somethings not good enough then it wont get aired. I took the trouble to check out this Sparki bloke and I now agree with all his fans on here he does produce some great music. It is odd why the show dont play him, local talent as well! I mean come on how many more comments till he gets played? loved the Dawn Chorus video nice and chilled also am really feeling Mellow Hype ive never heard house with a lovely nice choir sample floating over the top it was nice and made me feel good. Im listening now and so far its all bands which is ok as I like new bands but I too would like to hear some dance music. So come on Jim/Jacob stop ignoring Sparki and lets hear one of his tunes preferably Mellow Hype! such a lush track I absolutely love it.

I dont think bands should just be played for the kind of content/frequency of dubious requests. Its up to the producers to decide whether they think the tracks are good enough or worthy enough to play. Personally, I think Sparki Dee is alright but not quite there yet. There are a real mix of bands on the show that defers from the typical indie bias that some mainstream stations like to play. I think the mix is refreshing but personally, i think some, not all, of the heavier, Slipknot-ty bands are just awful and should not be played. There seems to be a sudden intrest in them on BBC Kent with last weeks demo listen derby but for me, and i think alot of other listeners, i think they ruin the show.

Ant we believe Sparki has the talent but BBC Kent just dont seem to budge. Yeah there is great talent on the show and I like other artists but I like Sparki too and I want to hear him. It begs the question why play 2 of his tracks and then not play the rest even when listeners really want to hear it. Like the other person said I think its that they just would rather play indie,rock all the time instead of dance. If you listen carefully the presenter seems to say "oh thats my fave" and 99 times out of 100 its a rock tune or something all genres should be catered for especially drum n bass, house and other forms and if listeners want something played the dj should play it I dont see why they dont. Ant if you think its fake people writing this all because we have the same views then your missing the picture and the point of us all writing comments not his fault he makes great tunes, he's just a good asset and a force that is bubbling under the surface and will be ready to blast out to everyone in time to come. Either way I think Sparki will be big in a few years, BBC Kent would have had there chance to play him but would rather shut him out. If someone has fans and they want to be heard more then the presenter/dj should slot the track in by popular demand. Also how comes he gets played on internet radio, radio 1 (few years back) other stations around south coast but not where he lives which is in Kent! local people should know more when they listen in. I like to see local talent get on, Thanet in Kent is not what you call the best part of Kent and things can be hard! music is another way and another option to get out and make a name for yourself. Many a time there have been people having a go trying to get up there and failing, I somehow dont think Sparki will fail because he has tunes that uplift you, get you going. Check him out Ant look at his profiles as he produces so many different styles of dance music its unbelievable. Keep going Sparki loving your new tracks on youtube, reverbnation and myspace! Ive been making records for some time now, perhaps 9 years now, and ive been music since a young Child, and ive been Djing since 2004. And i have to say, Sparki Dee is one of the best unsigned acts ive come across. Dawn courus a new Promo he has sent me recentaly is going down well when i play it to people. I myself as a producer have done colabiration tracks withe the Sparki, and... he gives it that energy, that nice 90's oldskool energy. Sparki is a great Producer and Dj and i know for a fact he puts 100% effort in his compasitions. It is a dream one day for me and sparki to relase a album together and show the world the tallent we posses! Sparki man keep up the good work! and all the fans of sparki i thank you for giving him all this suport.

I agree with Brandon, DJ Basic and all the rest who like Sparki. I think he is a great producer and am baffled as to why this station continues not to play him, its frustrating that us the fans are not being listened to. Seems they have some sort of dislike towards him, either that or they hate dance music. Remember its not all about bands! producers work just as hard! all the time taken recording, doing mixdowns, getting the track to sound just right. Staying in and staying up till all hours banging out track after track after track, then trying to get stations to play your music! its just as complexed as what bands do. Bruised Beauties sound wicked and I liked there tracks as you constantly played them, I have a love for dance music too like house, drum n bass etc and I want to hear Sparki Dee played alot. In reply to what Jacob said I think thats just a cop out you need to alternate music on there put in more dance music please Jacob because thats what me and the rest on here want! Wow still loads of hype towards Sparki and still not getting played, surely Jacob its what the listeners want to hear that matters and not what you like to play. Like people are saying its not all about bands! who is getting the most requests? Sparki! who is signing up to his music profiles as fans? we are! cos we think he has the talent. I know you didnt specifically say that Sparki's tracks were not good enough, but from my angle it looks like you was digging at him. I and all the others on here believe he makes quality tunes, if he wasnt up to scratch then why did you play Clear Blue Sky and Mellow Hype? your comment makes no sense whatsoever and therefore gives off the vibe to your listeners that you just dont listen to what we would all like played. Why are talented people sometimes let down by the system? to me its just not fair. Obviously you probably still wont play his great tracks as you seem to think he is below par, but we the listeners think otherwise. I love all music and think the others who get played are very talented, but sometimes you miss the best part. More dance music is wanted and Sparki seems to be the number 1 choice from everyone on here including me. So please do listen to your listeners because we do exist. The presenter says lets hear your thoughts, what you like and who should get played on the messageboard so we do that by asking for something to get played. You do realise people just wont tune in anymore. Please play Sparki Dee - Mellow Hype in full! we know you have it as you played it in your short demolisten thing at the end of the show ages ago. If you play it you will find people probably wont be complaining, I bet if this comment isnt approved it shows that you just dont listen to the people who tune in every week. Look this is just becomeing a battle, we need more House and Drum n Badd music on this show, and any other forms of inteligant dance music. You as the BBC are loosing listeners, The world is full of bands, not that i as a person have anything aggainst but its to predictable, Dance music is a rare thing to come by people making it because its complex and requires alot of time and technical knowladge. Now im a very open minded person and apriciate all the music that is played on this show and i big up all the artists that do get played, but there is not enough IDM on here. IDM has lived in the shadows of mainstreem music since its early roots in chicago back in the mid 70's all its asosiation with drug consumption ect, but so what, idm ist the only music that can sometimes be asosiated with drug use, there are songs writen by big rock bands about takeing cocane and smokeing spliffs. As a regular listener of the show i am loosing interest because its the same old bands the same old typical samey music being plaeyd,indi this rock that, I and many other fans of IDM whant more of it, weather its Sparki Dee Dj Basic Jacob plant or who ever, i know for a fact that alot of the music that does get sent in that is IDM is of high quality especialy Sparki Dee's tracks. So dont give people the "some of the tracks don't meet that standard" burocracy! its all good standard, its someone creative effort and time put into something.please play more idm you are loosing fans by playing the same old music, its nothng personal, i myself apricate all styles of music but its becoming samey.Regards Mr. XBig Ups to everyone that gets played on here weather rock indi or idm!

But we all think Sparki should be played, regardless of what you think its a show for up and coming unsigned talent and really you should listen to us lot who want to hear what we want to hear. Thats the problem these days, some dj's play only what they want to hear and not what some other people want. I think your quite biased which shouldnt happen in music everyone should have there turn and be heard. Everyone is screaming for it so all you got to do is play it, doesnt make you look good. It makes Sparki look better as it shows he has fans who want to hear him played.

Heard the hype surrounding Sparki Dee and I really like his tracks never thought I would like the stuff he produces but its got me hooked! its very diverse he doesnt stick to one genre. Dawn Chorus is a great chill out track that made me emotional and also uplifted. I saw the video on youtube (search for sparki dee on there) such a good producer. Uplifting or dark he knows how to make it! Im just asking what everyone else is asking and that is why wont you play him BBC Kent? dance music gets played on here a little bit but not enough! we want to hear Sparki's tunes. People are getting bored and fed up of asking, it seems the comments come in about him but you just ignore people, Ive read the ones down bottom of the page and also over the past few weeks. Your missing out on something and someone who will go on to be a force in the dance music scene, shame you dont see what a talent he is. Im losing interest in the show as like others have said they want to hear Sparki Dee! alot of complaints about it but nothing is done. Just play him surely its not that hard. I love ya Sparki even if BBC Kent dont!

Loving bruised beauties cool tunes, I have looked at all the hype surrounding Sparki on this page, I googled him and wow he is great! and Im also wondering why you dont play him either, you play other producers but not him. I personally think Sparki is better than the other producers on here, DJ Basic comes a close second other than that Sparki rules! signed up to his myspace too what a great talent! you really are missing out on something special here, no doubt when he makes it big you will want to be his friend then wouldnt you. Dont you think your alienating some people here BBC Kent? shame to see a great talent go to waste. Good show guys nice tracks on there, I have to agree with Kelly though Sparki Dee is great! his myspace is a great dance music palace with lots of tunes bursting out at you, they instantly grab my attention. He seems to have a fanbase and Iam one as well its just a shame you are shunning him, he is local around Kent and this show is called "Introducing" meaning it should cater for all local music talent same old cliche with dance music it never gets praise especially drum n bass and I dont understand the negativity. Spooka is another example of great talent from the Kent area, Sparki needs more exposure on air he seems to get it on other stations but not locally which is a shame! I think he will be going onto great things and I also think you are missing out on this! Im going to sign up to myspace to add him. Keep at it Sparki we love you! :)

Hi have been trying to upload some new tracks onto the introducing page but it goes blank and never loads up then eventually crashes. Have tried sending email as well but keep getting failure notices which is kinda annoying is there another way I can send in some more of my tracks please?Thanks Basic for big up :) gotta love the house music. Hopefully when my track uploads you be able to hear some of my more experimental house and breakbeat tunes.

Have been loving Sparki Dee's tracks on myspace I saw his bulletin about being played on here and have been listening out for him. You dont seem to play him alot which is a dissapointment because I really like his tunes! can you play Sunrise Symphony if possible please? I think thats one of his best tunes.
