Fastrack

Coming to a stop near you...

Fastrack

Is it a bus, is it a tram? No, it's Fastrack, the transit bus network that links existing town centres with new developments in the Kent Thameside area.

The amount of building earmarked for the Dartford and Gravesend areas means that if everyone were to be dependant on the car, the region would grind to a halt.

So development has been planned with a public transport infrastructure in mind, namely the new High Speed 1 domestic train links and Fastrack.

Fastrack routes

Fastrack routes.

The first Fastrack route, linking Dartford and Gravesend town centres opened in March 2006. The busses run on dedicated busways, separate from existing roads, meaning passenger won't get stuck in traffic jams.

Fastrack will ultimately connect nearly all of the major existing and new developments in Dartford and Gravesham:

Route A: Dartford - Joyce Green - The Bridge - Crossways - Greenhithe - Bluewater

Route B: Temple Hill - Dartford - Darent Valley Hospital - Bluewater - Greenhithe - Northfleet - Gravesend

For much of the time the service operates every 5 to 10 minutes allowing passengers to turn up and go. During evenings and on Sundays services run every 15 to 30 minutes.
