Personnel: James Hampson - Guitar Chris Smith - Bass Josh Young - Vocals & Guitar Kailum Patel - Drums Kent connection: We are a local band from Tunbridge Wells and have been playing gigs across Kent and the south of England for the past year. In brief: Stowaway Sterling are from East Sussex/Kent and has been going just about a year now. Our first 4 piece practice was a couple days before we recorded our first EP. With great distances the band didn't properly find its feet until October 2005, when they played their first gig at the Tunbridge Wells Forum to a surprisingly positive response. Following this, the band has struggled to find any time to practice and the general feedback of most gigs since was that of an under rehearsed band , who have not found the true potential of what they are capable of just yet!! However, during the early months of 2006 the band has really put thought and time into making music that not only pleases them, but suits the current mood of life in their area. The band has already played to great receptions in Portsmouth, Hastings & Tunbridge Wells supporting bands such as The Hint ,The Kirkz & BlackBud Musical highlight: Still searching for a prominent highlight! Style and influences: Alt/Pop/Rock influenced by bands like 'The Jam, The Buzzcocks, The Police, Dire Straits, pearl Jam, RHCP, Jet-Plane Landing and many more..' Did you know? The bands name comes from the name of Lead Singer Josh's is nephew and the scruffy nature of Josh himself! |
