The Semi-final
Our four remaining Josephs fought for a place in the final.
With only three places in the final up for grabs, the heat was really on for Ben, Keith, Lee and Lewis - just who would be the last Joseph to sing Close Every Door before the big day, next Saturday?
First up was Keith with the Barry Manilow and Take That hit Could It Be Magic. Did he pull the rabbit out of the hat? The experts thought so. "You have a voice of gold," said John. "Another great performance," agreed Bill, comparing him to the man himself, Barry Manilow. "You've been working at the supermarket checkout. It's now time, for the West End to check you out," said Denise.
Next was Ben with Ease On Down the Road, but was it an easy journey to the final for him? "You can wipe the floor with the rest of the guys," said Zoe. "You are a showman, Ben." But she still worries about him performing the slower scenes if he won the role. John pointed out to her that some of the former Josephs in the West End didn't have great voices. "He is a star, this kid has it," he said.
This week our Josephs have been paired up to test their duet skills. Keith and Ben returned to the stage to sing the Lloyd Webber number Only You from the musical Starlight Express.
Graham was disappointed with the lack of skates, but Andrew loved their interpretation of the song. "It's a song sung by an older man, Ben, but you did it quite wonderfully," he said. "They both had a leading man quality tonight... I'm so confused," said John.
Back to the solo numbers, and Lewis stepped forward to sing the Neil Diamond classic, Sweet Caroline. "Tonight, Lewis that was a really great performance," said John, but he added. "I'm still missing a bit of the fire." "I see an amazing maturity - every week I see a growth. I want you here in the final, next week," said Bill. "My worry is that you'd go to bits if you woke up the next morning to terrible reviews," said Andrew.
Lewis was followed by our last solo number of the evening, Lee performing Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer. Zoe praised him for recovering from a bad note, but added, "It wasn't a 100 per cent accurate performance and I'd be a hypocrite if I said it was." Bill loved it: "I see in front of me one of the greatest interpreters of a song." Bill also said that Lee could be not only a national but an international star.
Lewis and Lee then sang On! What A Circus from Evita. Andrew just couldn't decide between them. "You both took on board every single thing I asked you to do," he said. "You now what, Lewis, you became a musical theatre singer through that," said Zoe.
The expert have had they're say but it wasn't them that would decide who would go through to the final. That's down to you the viewer, so pick up the phone and vote for your favourite.

The quality of the singing and performing has really improved over the last week. Lewis and Lees duet from Evita was the star performance on Saturday night. I wish you all well for the final but in my heart Lee is the best performer with Lewis coming up strongly behind him. Keith has a great voice but lacks the performing skills to make you believe in his character.

I championed Connie for Maria and was right so hope I am right about Lee who is fantastic on all levels. Lewis is great but too young and won't stand the pressure. keith sounds fab but just doesn't feel like Joseph. it was right that ben should go and I'm sorry that he didn't go instead of Daniel. Sir ALW seemed a bit lost for words when Lewis clearly outshone Lee in the Evita duet! BUT......Keith has never put a foot wrong and has knocked spots off the rest since the beginning of the contest.......he could certainly handle 8 shows a week! Could the others....I doubt it !!

Not only does Lee have the best looks, he also has the best body , has anyone noticed his abs? (Just like Jason when he played Joseph ) After all the guy wears a loin cloth in the 1st half! I might sound like a complete nutter but why don't you make a dvd of the training that the boys get by your experts - there are loads of people who would like to 'have a go' at musical theatre but can't afford to go to classes or would prefer not to make a fool of themselves and just try it at home! A dvd of training or performances step by step to copy would be ace. A bit like exercise vids but for musicals! There must be common 'skills' because if you watch kids who've been to stage school they often have the same moves. Just a thought. Thanks. Bye.

Loving the show, the guys left are all excellent entertainers. Keith has a fantastic voice and I can see his stage presence developing with each show, always found it disconcerning though that they kept talking about his look surely its about talent. Ben well must admit after tonight was a bit fed up watching him fishing for praise from the panel, none of the other guys do it but Keith and Ben were fanatastic doing the duet from Starlight Express. Lee very professional throughout and I agree he's brilliant at making people see the story in a song, but tonight felt that singing Living on a Prayer wasn't the song for him. Despite feeling sorry that he lost it noticeably at one point he still got the story over yet again. Lewis I have thought all through would be judged favourably as he does have the typical Joseph look but to be honest I have never really rated him till he dueted tonight with Lee and then for the first time I actually saw him "act" a song.Think I would like to see Keith & Lee in the final, but best of luck to them all.............

I'm gonna be sad to see another Joseph sent home because they are all so lovely. Even though I want Lee to win I'd like to see them all in the final.
