Only six of our Josephs remain - how did they fare tonight?
We're getting closer and closer to the final, and no one wants to be the one to fall when the prize is in sight, but the competition continues and our Josephs must sing for their survival. This week there was a bit of a twist in the tale - our Josephs had to sing both solo and group numbers in the hope of winning your votes.
Keith was first to perform tonight, singing Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl for his solo number. There was love for Keith from our panel: John felt that Keith was "a definite, definite, definite contender. You listen to what we're telling you and you apply it to the next performance. There were bits tonight where you went backwards and I couldn't hear you - your diction still needs work. But you're a contender." Zoe disagreed with John's criticism: "I thought you were great, but you did miss a few vocal show-off moments." Andrew also had words of praise: "You've got a phenomenally good voice. You proved that you were the man today, rather than the boy, and I really believe that you've got a huge future."
Lewis was next to take to the stage, determined to bounce back from his experience in last week's singoff, performing Westlife's The Rose. Zoe kicked off the panel's comments by saying that she wanted Lewis to bring more of his offstage personality to his performances: "As soon as you stand on stage, you cloud over and I can feel your tension. I look at you and I want to feel what you're singing - it's like the lights are on but there's nobody home." "I think Zoe's talking total rubbish," disagreed Bill. "You did it beautifully, you did it subtly and I thought you were sensational." Denise shared some of Zoe's reservations, advising Lewis that "you need to make it bigger". Andrew thought Lewis "told us a story...that's a great advance, but you've still got a way to go though."
Next to perform on stage was Ben, singing Elvis Presley's Blue Suede Shoes. Denise looked back on Ben's progress throughout the competition: "I think that the best thing that could've happened to you was being in the bottom two at the beginning of this competition, because you came back fighting and you've turned into a star." Bill also had praise for Ben, telling him "you've got the charm and charisma of leading men twice your age", but adding that he wants to see Ben perform a song next week that showcases his vulnerable side. John was full of enthusiasm for Ben's performance, telling him: "You're my Joseph at this stage of the competition." Andrew said: "Tonight you knew exactly what you were doing, and I can't wait to see what Bill thinks when you do a song that shows your other side."
After Keith, Lewis and Ben performed the Rat Pack classic That's Life as their group number, it was Craig's turn to sing solo, performing Michael Jackson's Black Or White. Zoe said: "Craig does deserve to be here, he's worked really hard. I have one worry though, Craig - when we let you go naturally and you do your Craig thing, you go back to Cabaret Man. Without the guidance of the judges - can you go it alone?" Bill thought he could: "As far as I'm concerned you had the most difficult job of the night. You turned [the song] into a drama - you got the words right, you got the feeling right. I can teach anyone to be big and bold, but I can't teach heart." Denise agreed with Bill: "Tonight you gave a fantastic performance, I know it's a hard song. But are you a leading man for opening night?" Andrew told Craig: "You're getting better all the time, but it's just this question of charisma. I think it's possible that you could be Joseph."
The penultimate Joseph to perform was Daniel, singing Will Young's Evergreen. John said: "As always I think you're vocally flawless. You have all the elements in the right places, but remember we're looking for a technicolour dreamcoat - sometimes tonight I was getting beige." Zoe explained that she'd been disappointed by Daniel failing to excite her in previous weeks, but had praise for this week's performance: "I think that was a phenomenal vocal." Denise said: "The issue I have is that you've got a fantastic megawatt smile, but sometimes you smile so much we don't see the emotion. Last week we saw the angry, now we want to see the heartbreak." Andrew asked the pivotal question: "Would we as an audience really want to hear you sing for two hours? I do worry if you've got what it is that's going to hold an audience, but you did very well tonight."
Our final Joseph of the night was Lee, singing The Rolling Stones' Paint It Black. Bill said: "Lee, that was in a totally different league to everything we've seen tonight. The West End is crying out for a new leading man - he's standing in front of me now." John said: "Lee, it pains me to say this - I would gladly give my leading man shoes to you to wear." Andrew agreed with the panel: "You did magnificently - obviously you're a Joseph."
We finished the evening off with a group performance from Craig, Daniel and Lee singing Don't Rain On My Parade from Funny Girl. So who's your Joseph, and who will be shedding his coat of many colours tonight? Their fate is in your hands...

If you want a Joseph that would keep your audience hooked for the whole show Mr Lloyd Webber then Ben is your man. Every week he has bounced back since the first week giving everybody such a show. he is the only one who can command the stage and sing and dance. As good as the others are, Lee is the only contestant who could part me from my money for a ticket. They all have good voices but Lee's acting and stage presence put him in a different league. If Lee wins the Lord will have another big hit on his hands I think!

I can not believe it was Daniel who was voted out last saturday - I was almost cringing at Craig's rendition of black and white. Lee should win without a shadow of a doubt. As the judge's said he was head and shoulders above the rest in the last show.

Show six was an excellent one. I loved all guys. SO so so sorry for Daniel!!!You didn't deserve to go so early. Chris B and Rob were also the briliant stars who shouldn't have gone so so early. He has incredible looks, talent and commands the stage so much so, I am mesmerised by his performance. Thank you SO much for putting the Show Six Videos on the Website. It means I can watch Lee's /'Paint it Black' over and over again!!! It was TOTALLY showstopping and very 'Joseph'. If there is any justice in this competition Lee should win. A lot of the others that remain are also very talented, probably suited to other West End parts, but I just don't see them as Joseph. Lee would make Joseph a West End show not to be missed!

This is a great programme - the level of singin and performance is sooooo high - but I think ALW choice of saving Lewis and letting Daniel go was the weakest decision so far - sorry Lewis, but Daniel was the more professional of you two and what a voice. Lewis has been in the sing of twice and perhaps that shows he is not really the publics choice. I think people thought Daniel was safe and forgot to vote!! Well done Daniel you should have gone further

I was really disappointed to see Daniel leave the competition. He has the best voice and is the most talented performer/actor. The panel were really unfair as he has consistently given each performance from his heart- he moved me completely. What a heartbreaker. Of course, he took the decision with dignity and showed just what a gentleman and a genuinely lovely guy he is. I wish him every success in his West End career. He's a star!

Fantastic family viewing. All the Josephs tonight should be in the show whether they play the main role or not. My particular favourite is Lee who shows every kind of emotion needed to play the part as well as being a good singer. Lets hope that in the future, talent from this show and the Maria show can entertain us by doing a series of variety shows on tv. This is what television needs ENTERTAINMENT

Brilliant performances by all but Lee also acts out the songs and is, therefore, eminently watchable. Daniel's opening was magic but he doesn't sustain the level of engagement. Ben is watchable but doesn't have the depth of Lee and the others vary a little too much!

It's hard to pick because one week each Joseph is weak the next they are brill, but Lee is never weak eccept when your ill but you still try your best. Everyone's had their favourite Joseph and it would be really exciting as an audience to see the runners up get an opportuinity to perform in the musical. I believe that Lee is the perfect Joseph for the westend. He portrays him absolutely phemonominally. His emotion,His expression along with his vocals just bring everything to life. Joseph himself was the envy of all his brothers, except for Benjamin. But in the end they knew He was right and God ordained. As much as the other contesters are good and have worked very hard, they will go far, and would work wonderfully together as the brothers. Its Lee who stands out as Joseph himself. You would pay to see Him in musicals without doubt.

It's great to see Bill Kenwright still involved with Joseph after all these years. I sat next to Kens mother in the early 80's to see a production of Kens with Jess Conrad in Blackpool. Well the over all performances over the last few weeks...this has to go to Daniel...the rest just dont make the grade. Daniel is exciting to watch, the rest are bit samey and bland. Daniel is the only one who has produced any real Theatre on stage, which this is what its all about. MR BOYS...your a star.

The final has to be these too......both nice guys, both very different. My preference is Daniel, I find Lee's performance abit too slick, no real dangerous element, too predictable. Lewis, you were brilliant as I think you have been every week. You certainly didn’t deserve to be in the bottom 2. I really hope it hasn’t affected your confidence - because you are brilliant and you can be Joseph, I really believe that and so do so many others. It must have been really hard for the week you wanted to increase your confidence to suffer a lack of public support, but forget that and remember what the judges said and how brilliant they think you were.
