How did you get into the BBC?
I regularly checked the BBC jobs website. I applied for the 2010 Vision Intake Pool and was lucky enough to get through.

What is the best thing about working as a runner?
The opportunity to meet and work alongside really experienced and talented people, who are always happy to offer advice.

What is the worst thing about working as a runner?
Sometimes the demands on your time can leave you feeling a little stretched but this only helps you to prioritise your workload.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to get into the BBC?
Focus on the experiences and attributes that may differentiate you from other applicants. Being able to articulate clearly why you really want to work for the BBC helps to get across your enthusiasm.

What qualities do you think are essential to be a good runner?
Happy to take instruction, able to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines, eager to contribute to the department and a friendly attitude.

What are you currently doing now and describe a typical day?
I am currently the office runner for the Drama Production Department based in London. My daily routine consists of:
* Providing administration support to the department
* Maintaining and retrieving archive footage
* Meeting and greeting guests
* Ordering office supplies
* Compiling audience viewing figures for monthly meetings
* Occasional PA support
* Offering support to colleagues on an adhoc basis (Anything from book reports to development research)

Where do you see your next role?
I am interested in pursuing development related positions in the future.
