Apply for the scheme
The Vision Intake Pool is now closed.
Please visit www.bbc.co.uk/careers/ for other opportunities.
How do I apply?
There are several steps in the process:
Step 1) Decide what role you want to apply for (see job descriptions) and where you want to be based (please note you cannot apply for both roles and can only select one location).
Options:
Birmingham – runner and PMA roles
Manchester – runner role only
London – runner and PMA roles
Step 2) Complete the online application form (including the two questions). The closing date for your application is the 12th January 2011
Step 3) Complete the online assessment task.
You will be presented with eight BBC work situations. You will be given 4 ways of dealing with each situation. You will then be required to rate how effective they would be and rank them in order of effectiveness.
Step 4) If you successfully complete the previous section, you will be sent a further e-mail inviting you to undertake 2nd online assessment task
If you are a Runner applicant you will be asked to complete a logical reasoning assessment. A logical assessment measures the ability to solve problems. The logical reasoning assessment also measures the ability to work flexibly with unfamiliar information and find solutions. All these abilities are important in the role of a Runner at the BBC.
If you are a Production Management Assistant applicant you will be asked to complete a numerical reasoning assessment. The numerical reasoning assessment will have questions which may involve decimals, fractions, tables and graphs. You can use a calculator. Numerical reasoning ability is important in the role of a Production Management Assistant at the BBC.
There will be an opportunity to take a practice test before you complete the main assessment. However, you can also sample the assessment now by clicking on this link http://www.kenexa.com/assessments/assessment_guidance and selecting the assessment that is relevant to the role you applied for.
Step 5) Assessment Day.
If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend an assessment day which will include an interview and a group exercise. This will be held between 21 February and 17 March 2010 in the location you have applied for. Please note that we will be unable to provide feedback for those people that are not selected to an assessment day.
Step 6) Offer of a place in the pool.
We will let you know if you have gained a place in the pool by the end of March 2010 (probably earlier if pool starts 28 March).
If you are a Runner applicant you will be asked to complete a logical reasoning assessment.
If you are a Production Management Assistant applicant you will be asked to complete a numerical reasoning assessment.
There will be an opportunity to take a practice test before you complete the main assessment.
