Step Up is a media project run by the BBC Academy in partnership with BBC News which aims to give people the skills and confidence to work in news.

If you are successful you will get the chance to learn production skills in TV, Radio or Online over a period of 10 weeks. The final production week will let you use your new expertise to produce news content for BBC Look North, radio or online news. You will also be paired with a BBC mentor, who will give you one-to-one support and advice during the scheme.

Unfortunately, we can't give you a job at the end of the project, but we hope the skills we have taught you will help you on the way to a successful media career.
