Staying ahead of the competition for coverage and content

With a proud history and a firm commitment to embracing new media initiatives, we’re one of the world’s most respected sports broadcasters. We cover the world’s biggest sporting events, from the Olympics, the World Cup and Six Nations Rugby to Wimbledon, the Grand National and Formula One. And the ways in which we deliver our content are as diverse as the sports we cover.

For a more detailed look at what we do, have a look at the sections below.

TV Sport

As well as some of the highest-profile sporting events shown on British TV, we deliver the country’s most popular football programming in Match of the Day. We’re also responsible for Sports Personality Of The Year.

Major Events

This team brought the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics to UK viewers across a host of media platforms. We’re currently preparing for the Vancouver Winter Olympics and, of course, London 2012 – the biggest challenge ever to face BBC Sport.

Interactive

The digital arm of BBC Sport, we deliver award-winning interactive TV services, a growing mobile service and the BBC Sport website – the biggest sports website in Europe.

Radio Sport

Each year we provide around 4,300 hours of output, including 5 live sport, Premier League football and Test Match Special. Our Saturday afternoon coverage reaches 2.55 million listeners; our bulletins on other stations reach millions more around the world.

Sports News

We look after all the sports news journalism for BBC News, 5 Live, the World Service and BBC World News. This is in addition to providing video and audio content, including bulletins, for BBC Sport Interactive.
