Our location
A natural home for BBC North
Spread over a 200-acre site in Salford, MediaCityUK, owned and developed by Peel Media, is only two miles west of Manchester’s city centre. We’ll be right in the heart of the site, with buildings overlooking The Lowry Arts Centre (which houses theatres, art galleries and restaurants), the Imperial War Museum North and the Manchester Ship Canal.
As you’d expect from a creative hub, MediaCityUK is already home to a number of production companies. Many more are set to come. Also, the University of Salford will have an innovative higher education centre here.
Salford Quays
The Quays already has more than 150 media-related businesses. Its theatres, galleries, museums, cinema, shops, bars, restaurants and water sports attract more than 4 million visitors each year. 13,000 people already work here and nearly 7,000 call it home. We look forward to joining them.
Getting there
With 11 million people within an hour’s drive, the motorway network on the doorstep and Manchester Airport just twenty minutes by car, MediaCityUK is nothing if not accessible. Also, good public transport links - the tram service between central Manchester and Salford Quays takes less than twelve minutes – mean that staff will be able to get to the site from across the region.
