BBC Learning

Learning was established in 1924 and is at the heart of the BBC’s overall aim to inform, educate and entertain. It’s our mission to inspire a life full of learning for all our audiences and as a department we play a central part in meeting the BBC's purpose of promoting education and learning.

We connect, create and magnify powerful opportunities for learning across the entire BBC to inspire all audiences. Working with both internal and external partners, we commission and create large scale events, multi-platform resources and outreach activity. Recent collaborations include Stargazing Live, Live ‘n'  Deadly, Frankenstein’s Wedding, Wallace and Gromit, Wonders of the Solar System, First Click, Domesday Reloaded and Bang Goes the Theory.

The department is also home to a comprehensive specialist learning offering that includes key brands like Bitesize and Skillswise. We offer a range of resources and activities for children, teachers, parents and adult learners. These make use of the best of the BBC – its content, channels of communication, talent and creative skills.
