5 live - Freelance Travel Reporters
THIS OPPORTUNITY HAS NOW CLOSED
BBC Radio 5 live is looking for new travel reporters when the station moves to Salford in autumn 2011. You’ll need to have an excellent radio voice with the potential to be a key part of our on air sound. You will also be required to compile, write and deliver concise and accurate national travel updates across the day from Breakfast through until Drive.
We’re looking for a number of new voices who could potentially fill either a regular weekday slot, or occasional weekend cover, both on a freelance basis. You will need to be entitled to work in the UK and all shifts will be based in MediaCityUK, Salford Quays. Direct experience of a similar role is not essential, but ideally you will have had previous experience of on air presentation and a passion for speech radio.
To be considered for this opportunity:
1. Create a demo of yourself presenting an example of a 5 live travel bulletin. You should also include additional audio examples which demonstrate personality, warmth and a conversational style beyond reading the travel. Demos must be no longer than 3 minutes in total and ideally be in MP3 format.
2. Write up to 5 facts about yourself that you think make you an ideal voice for 5 live.
