BBC Radio News myChance trainee journalist scheme

Applying

Completing the application form

Read the application form thoroughly and give it the time and attention it needs to complete it. The questions have been specifically designed to allow you to tell us about yourself and highlight the skills and experience you have that are relevant to becoming a BBC trainee journalist. In answering the questions you should keep to the allocated space and word count stated and make sure you give examples to support your statements. Your answers should be accurate and concise - they are the first evidence of your journalistic skills!

Completed applications must be received by Thursday, May 31, 2007.

If you are successful

You will be awarded a twelve month training contract which will begin on Monday September 3, 2007. On that day you will visit the BBC News Centre in West London for a tour and a chance to meet your London mentor. You'll also undergo the BBC Upfront induction programme.

BBC Radio News will meet reasonable travel and accommodation expenses while you are based in London during the training contract. It will also make a contribution to the cost of your meals.

Please note that the deadline for applications (31st May 2007) has now passed. We are no longer accepting application for this scheme.
