BBC at MediaCityUK
Your journey to Salford starts here…
The BBC is creating a new digital broadcast centre in the North of England as part of the MediaCityUK development at Salford Quays in Greater Manchester. Construction began in June ’07 and the BBC buildings are scheduled for completion in 2011 as part of phase 1 of the MediaCityUK development.

"The modern, multimedia broadcast and production centre in Salford will shift the BBC's centre of gravity away from London, bringing a range of creative benefits to us and, I hope, helping us to better reflect and represent the whole of the UK."
BBC Director-General, Mark Thompson
