The BBC Design Trainee Scheme helps talented designers at the start of their careers gain an introduction into the television, film and interactive design industry. Design opportunities are currently available in interactive design.

As an Interactive Design Trainee, you'll get the opportunity to work with leading design teams across the BBC’s interactive platforms. After 12 months on the Design Scheme, you'll have gained valuable experience and the skills you need to turn creative ideas into reality. We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are inspired by great design whether in television, film or on interactive platforms.
  • Have a good idea of design throughout the broadcast industry and a real awareness of the multiplatforms that the BBC works across.
  • Are flexible and keen to take on new challenges, and enjoy being part of a creative team.
  • Have talent and potential, and are passionate about the media.
  • Have a portfolio of work that you can submit to us.

Stage 1

Prepare your portfolio and CV for the scheme and complete the online registration information.

CVs must be uploaded and received by 26 June.

Your portfolio and online CV must be submitted by 26 June 2009.

No late submissions will be accepted.

Stage 2

A panel of experienced designers will shortlist up to 15 individuals who successfully demonstrate their talent, creativity and potential in interactive design. If successful you will be taken forward to the next stage of the selection process. Unfortunately, due to the anticipated high number of applications, if you are unsuccessful at this stage in the selection process, it will not be possible to provide individual feedback.

Stage 3

If you are shortlisted you will be invited to attend an interview in July 2009. Feedback will be available to all candidates who get through to this stage of the selection process.
