Getting on a bus

Travel

All you need to know about getting to, from and around the island with links to live information from the airport and harbour.

Whether travelling to or from the island by air or sea or even within the island by bus, car, taxi or even bike - this page should be of some help to you.

Travel by Air

There are a number of airlines flying to and from the island on a regular basis from across the UK and Europe.

Jersey's airport is located in St Peter in the west of the island and served by the Number 15 bus route.

Travel by Sea

There are a number of ferries operating between Jersey, Guernsey, the UK and France with Condor operating car ferries between the three destinations.

Travel by bus

The bus service in Jersey is operated for hte States of Jersey by Connex with a central hub at Liberation Station in St Helier.

You can find out when the next bus is going to arrive at your stop by texting the number on the bus stop to 66556 and you will receive a reply with the next bus.
Text message costs could apply.

Adult fares range from £1 for travel within Band A and £1.50 (before 19:00) for travel within Band B. Children's fares 3-11 are 50p everywhere and 12-15 are 50p before 19:00 and £1 after.

Travel by car

There are over 350 miles of paved road in Jersey and over 100,000 registered vehicles making an estimated 166,000 journeys every day.

The maximum speed limit in the island is 40mph with a limit of 15mph in some green lanes. Seat belts must be warn and it is an offence to hold a mobile phone while driving.

Travel by taxi

There are two different types of taxi operators in Jersey - Controlled (yellow roof sign) and Restricted (white roof sign).

There are taxi ranks in the island at the Airport and Harbour and in St Helier at Library Place, Snow Hill and the Weighbridge.
